Energy Battle Royale is a live, interactive performance where energy superheroes—like solar, wind, and hydrogen—face off in rap battles and dance-offs to spark climate action through pop culture and education.

Energy Battle Royale is a pioneering educational initiative that uses performance art to make sustainable energy relatable and exciting for students.
FROM COMIC BOOK TO LIVE SHOW
Energy Battle Royale launched as a comic-style coloring book designed to help students understand the pros and cons of different energy sources. Over time, it evolved into a live theatrical “battle royale.”
The core message:
- ⚡ Every energy source has tradeoffs
- 🤝 No single technology is the answer
- 🌍 A reliable, sustainable energy future requires many solutions working together
ENGAGING STUDENTS IN ENERGY
In 2022, LAUSD and SoCalREN invited us to produce our first live Energy Battle Royale at the Future Green Leaders Summit at the LA Convention Center, reaching 900+ middle school students.
Before the show, students receive custom Energy Battle Royale trading cards that introduce each energy source and its attributes. They then experience a 45-minute interactive performance blending educational theater with pro-wrestling-style showmanship.
During the show:
- 🎤 Characters battle through dance and rap
- 📣 Students vote with cheers and applause
- 🔋 Energy concepts become active, physical, and memorable
IMPACT AND CONNECTION
Energy Battle Royale quickly became the summit’s featured attraction. Now in its third year of partnership with SoCalREN, the program has reached thousands of students across districts including Burbank, Pasadena, San Bernardino, Rialto, and Lancaster.
Educators consistently tell us:
- Students continue discussing energy topics weeks after the event
- Complex systems feel approachable and understandable
- The characters help abstract ideas truly stick
Whether it’s a rap battle between Ethanol and Biogas or Geothermal and Nuclear teaming up after a dance-off, students leave with a clearer understanding of how energy fits into their world.
WEST COAST TOUR
Global Inheritance is expanding Energy Battle Royale into a West Coast Tour, with planned stops in Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, and additional cities.
Each performance will:
- Introduce key clean energy sources
- Connect energy concepts to daily life
- Offer practical ideas for saving energy at school, at home, and in the community
